Thirty-Five

For one year I photographed everything that came in and out of my body. I started this project on March 19, 2003, the first day of spring, and finished on March 19, 2004, the last day of winter. The piece consists of almost 7,000 photographs, representing a complete visual record of everything taken in and excreted by one human in one year.

For me the creation of this piece was an end in itself, encompassing performance, discipline, the absurd, the mundane, time and repetition. Ultimately I intend to install the entire year’s photographs in a gallery on four walls.
